Our Coir Blankets provide effective, eco-friendly solutions for erosion control and vegetation establishment. Designed to stabilise soil and minimise sediment displacement, our blankets are perfect for slopes, riverbanks, wetlands, and other areas prone to erosion. Durable and biodegradable, the blankets help retain moisture, promote plant growth, and support long-term environmental restoration projects. They provide temporary cover against rain and wind, while establishing new vegetation on bare soil areas. Made from coir fibre the blankets are sewn with either 100% organic mesh made of jute net and cotton thread or polypropylene thread and polypropylene mesh. The denseness of the blankets enables them to provide more effective, immediate erosion protection, in comparison to plastic alternatives which require friable soil filling.
Suitable for slopes, embankments, riverbanks, wetlands and infrastructure corridors, Salike® blankets offer controlled biodegradation aligned with vegetation maturity- forming part of a responsible, nature-integrated erosion control strategy.
Netting type should be selected based on project lifespan, exposure level and environmental specification.

Salike Coir Blankets are specified for:
Suitability should be evaluated against gradient, flow velocity and design life requirements.
Remove debris and ensure firm ground contact.
Roll blanket downslope, ensuring overlaps follow water flow direction.
Secure with biodegradable pins, timber stakes or steel pegs.
Typical rate: approximately 2–3 fixings per square metre (increasing for steep gradients).
Apply seed or hydroseed over blanket surface to initiate vegetation establishment.
Custom dimensions available upon request.
From £35.99 per blanket (inclusive of VAT)

Salike products are designed to provide erosion control, surface stabilisation and ecological enhancement in accordance with their intended application. They do not constitute structural support systems unless expressly stated.
Performance is dependent on site-specific conditions, including but not limited to soil characteristics, slope geometry, hydrological and hydraulic forces, installation quality, vegetation establishment, and ongoing environmental factors. As such, project outcomes may vary.
All technical data, specifications and guidance are provided in good faith, based on current knowledge and experience. Variations may occur due to the inherent properties of natural coir materials and site-specific conditions.
It remains the responsibility of the project designer, engineer and/or contractor to determine the suitability of the product for the intended application and to ensure correct specification and installation.
