Our Pre-Grown Coir Logs offer a ready-to-use solution for erosion control and slope stabilisation. The logs provide immediate protection against soil erosion while promoting vegetation establishment along pond and lake edges, streams and riverbanks. Ideal for restoring eco-systems and stabilising slopes and river banks, our Pre-Grown Coir Logs are a sustainable and efficient choice for environmental rehabilitation projects. Grown for two seasons, the pre-established rolls work immediately towards erosion control and habitat restoration solutions. Our coir rolls provide natural wildlife cover, encourage breeding colonies and improve waterside habitats.
Salike Pre-Grown Coir Logs provide an established, ready-to-install solution for riverbank stabilisation, shoreline reinforcement and wetland restoration.
Unlike standard coir rolls that rely on post-installation planting, these logs are cultivated in advance – typically over two growing seasons – allowing vegetation to develop mature root systems prior to site deployment.
This pre-established growth delivers immediate ecological integration and enhanced early-stage erosion resistance, particularly in pond edges, lake margins, stream banks and low-to-moderate hydraulic environments.
Salike Pre-Grown Coir Logs combine engineered stabilisation with habitat creation – forming living structural elements that integrate directly into aquatic and riparian landscapes.
Vegetation selection is aligned with riparian and wetland suitability requirements.

Standard native species options include:
Available with or without Glyceria maxima (Sweet Reed Grass).
Additional species available upon request, subject to ecological and regional suitability.
Salike Pre-Grown Coir Logs are specified for:
Suitability should be assessed relative to hydraulic loading and bank gradient.
Position logs continuously along the waterline or bank toe. Where multiple units are used, secure tightly together using coir yarn or equivalent biodegradable binding.
Excavate a shallow trench no greater than one-third of the log diameter to ensure stable embedment.
(Example: for a 400mm diameter log, embedment depth approximately 100–130mm.)
Secure using timber stakes or steel pins at approximately 4–6 fixings per linear metre (subject to site exposure).
Backfill and compact soil behind the log to ensure continuous soil contact and root interface stability.
Anchoring density should increase in higher exposure zones.
Available in standard vegetated log formats.
Dimensions are project-specific and supplied based on diameter and planting configuration.
Custom diameters and planting densities available upon request.
Weight varies according to diameter, planting density and moisture content at time of installation.
Detailed weight data available within project specification sheets.
Prices available upon application.
Project-based quotation required due to species selection, cultivation cycle and transport logistics.
Salike products are designed to provide erosion control, surface stabilisation and ecological enhancement in accordance with their intended application. They do not constitute structural support systems unless expressly stated.
Performance is dependent on site-specific conditions, including but not limited to soil characteristics, slope geometry, hydrological and hydraulic forces, installation quality, vegetation establishment, and ongoing environmental factors. As such, project outcomes may vary.
All technical data, specifications and guidance are provided in good faith, based on current knowledge and experience. Variations may occur due to the inherent properties of natural coir materials and site-specific conditions.
It remains the responsibility of the project designer, engineer and/or contractor to determine the suitability of the product for the intended application and to ensure correct specification and installation.
Salike® Terms and Conditions apply.
